F.A.Q.

What is T'ai-Chi Ch'uan?

When are classes?

Classes are Monday evenings from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM beginning September 10, 2007.
There are no classes on or just prior to holidays, feel free to contact us for details.

When does a new session begin?

Classes are ongoing, so show up on a Monday.  Beginners are always welcome.

Where are classes held?

Rochester Senior Center - 3rd Floor - Fred Reed Hall
121 N. Broadway
Rochester, MN  55906
Parking is available across the street to the north.

What is the cost of classes?

Club dues are $20 per month.
Our club has no contract, we only ask that you pay for the current month in advance.

Can I watch a class?

You may observe if you like, but we recommend just jumping in and giving it a try.
Your first lesson is complementary.

What should I wear?

We have no special uniform, just dress comfortably.
Sweats or loose fitting pants are recommended.  Practitioners of chinese martial arts wear shoes.
We recommend flat bottom athletic shoes (i.e. tennis, cross training, indoor soccer, etc.)

How long does it take to learn the Tai Chi solo form?

Most people take a few months to learn the entire set of postures.  It depends on how much movement training you've had in the past, how quickly you learn, and how much you practice outside of class.
